Allyson & Stephen, like many of our wedding clients, decided to have their wedding and reception at locations that are meaningful to them. As they spend much of their time in Raleigh, having their wedding in downtown Raleigh was at the top of their list. The downtown Raleigh area has no shortage of beautiful wedding venues and they decided to have their ceremony at the 1st Presbyterian church and their reception at the gorgeous City Club in downtown Raleigh.
The 1st Presbyterian church has recently undergone some major reservations so it was great to get back back and see the fruits of their labor. The sanctuary is gorgeous (and expanded) from the last time I’ve photographed a wedding there and the stone texture really added a visual appeal to the wedding. I absolutely love weddings where the bridal party are all close and, as you can see, the bridesmaids had no trouble getting close and cutting up before the ceremony. After the wedding, we headed out to the grounds of the Capital building, in the heart of downtown Raleigh, to take some portraits of the bride & groom.
At the wedding reception, the City Club was a perfect venue with its breathtaking views of downtown Raleigh, 1st class service and just the right atmosphere for their family and friends to celebrate their wedding! Allyson & Stephen left that evening thru a line of sparklers into a waiting pedicab which took them on an evening tour of the downtown area.
I’d like to thank Allyson, Stephen & both of their families for entrusting me to capture such an important day in their lives! It’s always a true honor to document weddings and it’s been a true pleasure getting to know you all!
I hope you enjoy a few photos from their wedding in downtown Raleigh!
