In North Carolina, we are so fortunate to have beautiful wedding venues throughout the state. This Pinehurst Wedding is a great example of one of those amazing venue for destination weddings. Pinehurst is best known as a bedroom golf community and home of the famous Pinehurst No 5 golf course. Needless to say, I was really excited to travel to this amazing part of North Carolina and shoot their wedding.
After Jennifer & Keith got ready at the infamous Carolina Hotel, we took advantage of the huge porch at the front of the hotel. As luck would have it (seriously), there was a slight rain shower just as we walked outside which provided a beautiful misty background which perfectly fit the look & feel I was going for.
The Village Chapel was the location for their wedding ceremony. The chapel is a stunning example of small southern town architecture with it’s iconic white pillars and massive organ. It’s not only the town’s first church (built in 1898) but it’s also one of the oldest Interdenominational churches in the US. The ceremony was short but meaningful with smiles and tears all around. The photo of Jennifer & Keith processing with them both looking at their families smiling is one of my top ten so far.
Their reception was held at the beautiful Pinehurst No 9 clubhouse located on the Pinehurst golf course. I’ve never been to this location so was thrilled to find a beautiful patio area in the back with firepits, a Bocci ball area, a pond and, of course, beautifully manicured grass. Their reception was a blast with their relative performing a live polka (he’s a professional accordion player), tear jerking toasts & lots of smiles, laughing and celebrating!
