Jenn & Sean traveled in from Seattle, WA for their Wedding at the Sutherland in Wake Forest, NC. The reason they traveled all this way for a Wake Forest, NC wedding was primarily for Jenn’s parents. I had met Jenn only once before as they both live and work in Seattle, WA. We had talked one the phone enough to get to know them both so when we finally met for their wedding day, it was like we knew each other already. On the day of their wedding, they were kind enough to bring a piece of home with them… rain. Of course I kid as NYC actually gets more actual precipitation then Seattle but, well, had to joke about it at least once. Good thing about having a bride from Seattle, she doesn’t care about getting a little wet in the name of good wedding photography. Ok, that was two jokes… I’ll stop now. :)
Jenn & Sean choose to have their wedding at the Sutherland in Wake Forest, NC. If you’ve never been out there, you should definitely make the time. A full restored historic home only 10 minutes from Raleigh, the Sutherland boasts a beautiful interior, full facilities for catering, the most convincing fake grass I have ever seen in the wedding ceremony area and a tent in the back for days like this one. The wedding ceremony was conducted underneath the tent by Kayelily Middleton who, as always, delivered a beautiful wedding ceremony. After the ceremony, the weather let up just enough to shoot the formals outside under nature’s “softbox” in the sky.
After the group and couples formal photography, we headed back under the tent for eating, celebrating and dancing for everyone. I must say, Jenn was quite relaxed as I shook the water off of her wedding dress (Jenn – you rock – wait until you see those shots!). As the night went on and Lenny Fritts got the dance floor going, I got a great opportunity to “peek” on Jenn & Sean behind the cover of a HUGE flower arrangement. For those that don’t know me, i’m 6’5″ and being stealthy is a real trick. The couple exited to their Rolls Royce and drove away after running thru their sparkler sendoff. Congratulations to you both! We are definitely going out for Sushi when I get back to Seattle!
