Carolina Inn Wedding | Maddie & Jason

What do you get when you cross a 6’8″ carolina baseball player with a 5’2″ carolina gymnest? An awesome Carolina Inn wedding with a bit of a height difference! When I met Maddie & Jason and heard how they met, I was instantly excited for their wedding. Both of them being athletes at UNC meant their schedules were extraordinarily busy, so the wedding day was, in comparison, one of the most relaxed I’ve had in some time.

We started out their day at the Carolina Inn where both the bride & groom got ready. Maddie got ready in the well known bridal suite (room 101) and Jason arrived mostly ready but put on the final touches in the famous black & white hallway. Their wedding ceremony was at a local church so the bride & groom had a party bus shuffle them over from the hotel.

Instead of doing a first look, they did a first touch around one of the columns in front of the church. One of my favorite photos at a wedding is when the bride & groom see each other for the first time but the first touch seemed to make the first look at the ceremony even more emotional. Each time we capture something a little different but the raw emotions came pouring out of Jason and got us all a little misty eyed. I’m just glad we have auto-focus on the cameras cause everything got a little blurry for me. :)

The reception was, well, amazing and what you’d expect from a Carolina Inn Wedding. Complete with the groom serenading the bride, a HUGE dance party, late night hot dogs and a LOT of great people having an amazing time, the happy couple left through a wedding sparkler exit.

I hope you enjoy a few photos from their wedding! As always, if you’d like to know more about this wedding or interested in having me photograph yours, please reach out to me!
