Another amazing wedding that I never got on my blog. Adam & Jensen opted to have their North Carolina Museum of Art wedding outside in the North Courtyard. As you can see from their photos, they took great time & effort to match their colors, dress & florals to fit their spring wedding. The one thing they wanted was a big party. I think you can see, they definitely got what they wanted!
The ladies opted to start their day at the Umstead hotel & Spa to get ready. The presidential suite here is a perfect place to get ready for your ceremony with 2 large rooms providing enough space for both the bride & bridesmaids (not to mention their photographer and hair & makeup people). The guys got ready at their neighborhood clubhouse before heading over to the museum.
They opted to NOT do a first look and save the emotions for when she walked down the aisle. I always tell me couples it’s up to them and give them the pros & cons of doing or not doing a first look. In this case, I think they made the right decision as the expressions we got when the ceremony started were amazing. One of my favorite times to photograph are when the bride & groom are reccessing after the ceremony. Usually it’s the first time they’ve been able to scan the crowd and we can capture some great moments. In this case, I caught a quick wink from Adam (which is far more difficult than you think to photograph).
Their wedding reception was an absolute blast! They had secured an amazing DJ because, as I said above, they wanted an amazing party! I love how they ran their evening with the cake cutting happening before anything else so they could focus the rest of their time with friends, family & celebrating. One thing hold true about every North Carolina Museum of Art wedding; the building in an absolute amazing place to photograph and with ample room, amazing food and very attentive staff, you will have an amazing event!
