One of the things that is great about photographing wedding portraits, is the relatively slow pace (when compared to weddings) of the shoot and the ability to really pick and choose your location. When Mary Channing had asked for suggestions on her bridal portrait, I wanted to know more about her so we could find an appropriate place. The words “southern”, “stately” and “charming” was what we came up with. Well, I know just the place and shooting at the Highgrove is always a treat! Even with their facility undergoing major renovation at the time, the inside of the house was still gorgeous!
We started by the gorgeous staircase in the front foyer of the Highgrove. This area really showcases the southern elegance of the property and fit Mary Channing’s beautiful wedding gown perfectly! From there we moved into the back hallway that is flooded with natural light from windows on 3 sides. Even though it was a cloudy day, the lighting was beautiful! We headed into the side parlor where the drapes and gorgeous furnishing just made for a fabulous finish to the session.
I hope you enjoy a few choice photos from Mary Channing’s wedding portrait session.
