NCMA Wedding | Laura & Wilson

Out of all the unique places in Raleigh for wedding ceremonies, having a North Carolina Museum of Art wedding ranks as one of the most memorable locations in the city. The NCMA showcases a sprawling outdoor campus complete with multiple art installations, beautiful landscaping and, of course, the museum buildings themselves (there are 2) which house the majority of the art. As you can imagine, having this as your ceremony & reception backdrop is nothing short of amazing!

You probably recognize Laura & Wilson from their Boston Engagement session. If not, you should DEFINITELY check it out as I was absolutely thrilled with the photos (not to mention finally having a proper bowl of Chowda). Even though they live in Boston most of their family & friends live in NC, so it made sense to have their wedding here.

So an idea I really love is instead of renting a hotel room for the evening, they got an AirBNB for each of them. This gave them a true home to use for the weekend and allowed everyone to join them as they got ready for their wedding. This is an idea I continue to recommend to my clients as the convenience & expense all made it well worth it.

Before I get to the photos. You’ll probably notice I put a LOT of black & white photos in the gallery. While I love color photography both the couple and their family & friends are so emotive, B&W just showcases that so much better than a color photograph.

I hope you enjoy a few photos from their wedding! As always, if you’d like to know more about this wedding or interested in having me photograph yours, please reach out to me!
